If you have a parallel printer and a PC with no parallel port, this is for you. It allows you to use a USB port for the printer. And it works perfectly as advertised. This cable was a little short for my liking, but I attached a three foot USB extension cable and haven't skipped a beat. Highly recommended and a no-brainer to install and use.
I put together a new computer and realized my old laser printer would not work any more due to the need for a parallel port which didn't exist on the new motherboard.
This cable saved me from buying a new printer. It worked first try and seamlessly. Running this connected to a HP Laserjet 6p from a AMD Phenom X4 955 X4, Vista Ultimate.

C2G / Cables to Go 16898 USB IEEE-1284 Parallel Printer Adapter Cable, Beige 6 Feet
I bought this to work with a Laserjet 5 printer. I found it installed easily and needed no drivers to work with Windows XP. I've printed text and graphics without a problem. Very happy with this product.
Purchased this to connect an old HP LaserJet 4ML to a new Intel iMac. Just plugged it in and it worked. iMac recognized the printer model and shows up as an available printer in application print dialog boxes. Does not say it is Mac compatable but it works!

Opened this up, plugged it into our brand new Dell running Windows 7, plugged the other end into our 17 year old Laserjet 4L. Windows instantly recognized everything and installed the necessary drivers. Printed the first page within 2 minutes of plugging in. Glad to have our old reliable laser back in action
